IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic Shoes
Sample Answer 1
1. Do you like buying shoes? How often?
Yes, I quite like buying shoes, but I don’ t do it very often. I usually buy new shoes only when my old ones are worn out or no longer comfortable. I think I buy a new pair about once every three or four months. I prefer practical and comfortable styles rather than very fancy ones, so l don’ t go shopping for shoes just for fun.
2. Have you ever bought shoes online?
Yes, I have bought shoes online many times. It’s really convenient because I can compare different styles and prices at home. Sometimes the size can be a bit tricky, but I always check the size guide and read reviews carefully. If the shoes don’ t fit well, I just return them. Overall, I enjoy shopping for shoes online more than going to physical stores.
3. How much money do you usually spend on shoes?
I don’t usually spend too much money on shoes. I normally spend between 300 and 500 yuan on a pair of casual shoes. I think shoes should be comfortable and durable, so I don’ t need to buy expensive or designer ones. I just choose good quality shoes at a reasonable price.
4. Which do you prefer, fashionable shoes or comfortable shoes?
I definitely prefer comfortable shoes over fashionable ones. For me, comfort is the most important thing because I walk a lot every day. Fashionable shoes often look nice but can be uncomfortable to wear for a long time. I would choose simple, comfortable shoes that make my feet feel relaxed, even if they are not very trendy.
Sample Answer 2
1. Do you like buying shoes? How often?
A1: Yes, l’m a bit of a shoe lover! I probably go shoe shopping every couple of months, especially if I see a nice pair that would match my clothes.
A2: Not really, it’s not my favourite thing to do.
I only buy new shoes when I really need to, like when my old ones are worn out. So maybe just once a year.
2. Have you ever bought shoes online?
A1: Yeah, l’ve bought shoes online many times.
It’s super convenient because you can compare lots of styles and prices without leaving home.
A2: No, l’ve never tried it. I prefer to try shoes on in the store to make sure they fit perfectly and are comfortable. Buying online seems a bit risky for that.
3. How much money do you usually spend on shoes?
A1: I’d say I normally spend around 300 to 500 RMB on a pair. I don’t go for the super expensive ones, but I also avoid the cheapest as I want them to last.
A2: I’m not a big spender on shoes. I usually just look for something affordable and practical, so l rarely spend more than 200 RMB on a pair.
4. Which do you prefer, fashionable shoes or comfortable shoes?
A1: Oh, comfortable shoes, without a doubt! I have to be on my feet a lot, so comfort is my top priority. If they look good too, that’s just a bonus.
A2: I usually go for fashionable shoes. I love following trends and I think nice shoes can really complete an outfit. I try to find a balance, but style is more important to me.
