I’d like to describe a traditional food that Chinese people often eat on birthdays Which is called longevity noodles.

In many Chinese families when someone celebrates their birthday, Especially at the end of a big birthday dinner, they will eat a bowl of longevity noodles. These noodles are different from ordinary noodles because they are usually long and uncut.

Sometimes they are also served with eggs. The way to make them is quite simple. People boil the noodles and then serve them in a bowl with soap vegetables or and eggs. The most important thing is that the noodles should remain long because they symbolize a long life People eat longevity noodles on birthdays because they carry good wishes. Family members and friends hope that the birthday person will be healthy, lucky and live for a long time. So even though the dish may not be the most expensive or the most delicious food at the dinner table. It is often the most important and meaningful one.

Personally, I always save some room for longevity noodles on my birthday Even after eating street food, fish or other dishes, for me eating them is not just about the taste it is about receiving blessing from my family members and friends and hoping for a better year ahead.
