Sample Answer 1
Where it is?
The city l’ d like to talk about is Kunming, which lies in Yunnan Province in the southwest of China. It is widely known as the Spring City, famous for mild weather all year round, stunning natural scenery and rich ethnic minority culture. It has always been an ideal travel destination for visitors from home and abroad.
What you will do there?
During my trip, I will visit the famous Stone Forest to enjoy amazing rock landscapes and natural views. I will also walk around ancient ethnic towns, appreciate traditional buildings and buy some handmade souvenirs. Besides, I plan to taste authentic cross-bridge rice noodles and local snacks, and sit quietly in a city garden to enjoy the fresh air and gentle wind.
How long you will stay there?
I plan to stay in Kunming for four days when I have free time. It is not a long vacation, but the time is perfectly enough for me to slow down, enjoy the scenery, taste local food and experience the relaxing local lifestyle fully.
And explain why you would like to visit it?
I am really looking forward to visiting Kunming. Its pleasant spring-like climate makes people feel relaxed anytime. The natural scenery is breathtaking and the ethnic customs are attractive. Moreover, the slow and peaceful life pace can help me escape from busy study pressure, which makes this city my dream travel spot in spare time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Kunming is a gentle and charming city with unique natural and cultural beauty. It leaves people a sense of peace and comfort. I sincerely hope I can visit Kunming in my free time soon, and explore more of its hidden beauty and local customs by myself.

The place I’d really like to visit in my free time is a small mountain village called Mogan, which is only about two hours’ drive from Hangzhou. I’ve seen some beautiful photos on Xiaohongshu, and it looks like a perfect escape from the city.
If I go there, I’d probably spend the whole day hiking along the bamboo trails. I’m not a super sporty person, but I do enjoy walking in nature and taking photos of the scenery.
There’s also a little lake where people can just sit and relax, so l’d definitely do that too. I’d stay there for a full weekend-maybe arrive on Saturday morning and come back Sunday afternoon. That way l’d have enough time to unwind without missing too much homework.
Honestly, the main reason I want to go is that I’ve been really stressed out lately. We have mock exams coming up, and the pressure is kind of getting to me. I just feel like I need a break-a chance to breathe fresh air and clear my head. Also, I think it would be nice to go with a couple of classmates, just chat and laugh without thinking about grades for a while.
So yeah, Mogan is definitely on my list. I hope I can actually make it happen soon.

I’d like to talk about a country I really want to visit, which is Italy. It is a beautiful country in Europe with a long history and amazing culture.
The main reason I want to go there is to experience the art and the food.
First of all, l’d love to visit some of the famous museums in cities like Rome or Florence. I’ve seen many pictures of Italian sculptures, but seeing them in real life would be amazing. In addition to the art, I’m a huge fan of their food culture. I’d really like to try authentic Italian dishes like pizza and pasta. On top of that, I want to enjoy a well-known Italian espresso in a local café, which I think is the best way to experience the local lifestyle.
As for the duration of the trip, I’m thinking of staying there for about fifteen days. I believe this is long enough to visit several cities without feeling too rushed.
I suppose the biggest reason why Italy is my first choice is that l’ve always been fascinated by its unique atmosphere. I think it’s a place where I can relax and enjoy beautiful scenery at the same time. Also, as someone who loves history, exploring the ancient ruins in Rome would be an unforgettable experience for me. That’s why Italy is my first choice for a long holiday.
Part 3
1. Why do you think some people choose not to travel abroad?
Answer 1:
I think a big reason is the cost-traveling abroad is just too expensive for many families in China, especially with flights and hotels. Also, people have limited holidays, like only a few days off during Spring Festival or National Day, so it’s hard to find time for a long trip. Plus, some folks feel nervous about language barriers or unfamiliar cultures, so they prefer staying domestic where everything feels easier and more comfortable. Honestly, it’s a practical choice for most people, not a lack of interest.
2. Do you think a gap period in life is important?
Answer 1:
Yeah, I think a gap period is really important. It gives you a chance to step back from the daily grind and figure out what you actually want, instead of just rushing from one exam to the next. For example, after the stressful Gaokao prep, a few months off could let you travel or pick up a new hobby, which feels super refreshing. Honestly, I’d love to have that time to recharge and see more of China, like visiting Zhangjiajie or Chengdu.
