(Update 2026) Describe a Place You Have Travelled To That You Would Like To Recommend To Others

You should say:

  • What it is
  • Where it is
  • What you saw and did there
  • And explain why you would like to recommend it to others

The first place that comes to my mind is Wuzhen, which is often referred to as the Venice of China. I visited there during this May Day holiday, and I absolutely loved it, so I definitely recommend it to my friends.

The first reason is its wide variety of competition types and prizes, catering to different budgets and preferences. Besides, it’s quite a short ride from Shanghai to Wuzhen. I think it’s one and a half hour-ish.

What impressed me most is the way the town is designed, the buildings blending well with the natural features of the landscape with provisions made for protecting trees and wildlife on the site. I went there with my friend Gabriella, and we took a walk along the tree-lined pavement. The weather was lovely, so just being outside was incredibly comfortable.

After a while, we came across a little cafe at the end of the street, so we decided to grab a fresh chocolate croissant and a latte. The barista also swore to the milk foaming to the co-design of full-leaf clover, so that’s the cherry on top.

We sat by their window, chatting, watching people walk by, and enjoying the gentle breeze outside. I felt incredibly comfortable and relaxed. So yes, I definitely recommend Wuzhen, especially to people who’d like to escape from a faster-paced city life and simply slow down for a while.
